Chronic Health Difficulties

Including Long Covid, ME/CFS, chronic pain

Support for Long COVID, ME/CFS, and Chronic Pain

Living with Long COVID, ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), or chronic pain can be exhausting—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. These conditions often bring uncertainty, isolation, and a sense of loss, especially when symptoms are invisible, fluctuating, or misunderstood.

In therapy, I provide a supportive space where your experience is believed and understood. We work together to navigate the emotional impact of chronic illness—grief, anxiety, identity shifts, and the stress of living with ongoing, unpredictable symptoms. I draw on a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that may include pacing strategies, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and tools for emotional resilience.

Psychotherapy can also support healing through the mind-body connection. Research shows that stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm can amplify physical symptoms. By working to calm the nervous system, reduce emotional distress, and build a sense of safety and self-compassion, therapy may help reduce symptom severity and improve your overall sense of well-being. While it’s not neccesarily a cure, psychotherapy can be a powerful ally in helping you feel more connected, empowered, and supported as you navigate life with a complex health condition.
