About Me and My Approach
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist offering telehealth services to clients across California. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine. I support older teens (16+) and adults around a range of difficulties, including:
Anxiety, OCD, and perfectionism
Down mood and depression
Psychosis and mania
Couples therapy
Difficult attachment and childhood experiences, difficult relational dynamics
Executive functioning and ADHD
The emotional aspect of chronic health conditions (including chronic pain, MCAS, ME/CFS, long COVID, EDS, POTS, etc.).
As a queer and poly person of color, I’m committed to creating a safe and affirming space for folks with minority identities, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, polyamorous/ENM, and neurodivergent individuals. I also speak conversational Mandarin and can conduct sessions in a mix of English and Mandarin, though I ask that clients have a basic working proficiency in English for best results.
In our work together, my hope is to support you in:
Developing a deeper understanding of yourself, others, and the human condition;
Building a more compassionate and accepting relationship with your emotions and all parts of yourself;
Living with more ease and freedom from being driven by thoughts and feelings, allowing greater access to well-being and resilience;
Aligning your life with your core values and what brings you purpose, joy, and connection;
Tapping into the mind’s natural capacity for growth and healing, including the loosening of rigid, habitual patterns in response to life’s challenges.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply present. I emphasize acceptance, mindfulness, and self-compassion, and I help clients tune into the wisdom of their somatic and emotional experience. In addition to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I draw from somatic, psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed parts work, as well as contemplative traditions such as Buddhist psychology.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether we might be a good fit. Please reach out using the Contact Me form below.
If therapy doesn’t feel like the right fit for you right now, there’s still a lot you can do on your own to support your healing and growth. I’ve put together a page with resources for working with Long COVID, ME/CFS, and chronic pain, which you can find [HERE], as well as a separate page for more general self-guided work [HERE]. If you have any questions about the materials, you're welcome to email me about it.
